SIZE GUIDE
We know handmade clothes can be hard to fit and most bodies do not fall into a single sample size. We are here to help you get the best fit possible. We design our patterns with fit in mind and test them on as many different body shapes as possible.
Measuring your body correctly is the first step to fit success. The three most important measurements for most of our patterns, are your Bust, Waist and Hip:
Your hip is usually the widest point of your bum. It is lower than your hip bone.
Your waist is usually just above your belly button and below your rib cage.
Your bust is usually the fullest part of your chest in line with your nipples.
Make sure the tape measure is parallel to the floor all the way round when you measure and breathe naturally.
Once you have your measurements, refer to our body measurement chart and see which size you are closest too. Use this as your base size. If you do not fall into the same size across each area of your body you may wish to grade between sizes.
Our patterns are drafted for an average height of 5’5” (164cm tall with a 78cm inside leg). If you are shorter or taller than this, use the lengthen and shorten lines on the pattern to adjust the length of the crotch, leg or torso.
Before you cut into any expensive fabric, it's always a good idea to toile a pattern in cheap/reclaimed fabric to check you're happy with the fit.
