In this exciting new course we will spend two days making a beautiful matching set of bra and pants. We will be using delicate lace and organic cotton to make hip hugging French knickers and a soft cup bra. The bra will not be underwired so if you require that level of support this may not be the course for you. However, I find the shape and structure does give lovely support to most ladies. I will provide all of the fabric, haberdashery and sewing machines (unless you would like to bring your own machine.) I love wearing underwear I have made every single day and I can't wait to share these sewing skills with you.
When: Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September 10.30am until 5pm
Where: Bristol Textile Quarter, 1A Barton Road, Bristol, BS2 0LF (5 minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads Station)
Please note: places are non-refundable unless I can re-sell your place
In this workshop Lydia Higginson of Made My Wardrobe and Kate Uzzell from Studio 1A will combine their pattern cutting and dressmaking skills to deliver a weekend of ethical fashion construction. We will utilise zero-waste approaches to garment design and look at how to source and use cloth in a more conscious way. This course is suitable for those of you who have never made a garment before but also relevant to experienced sewers who want to create clothes in a more ethical and sustainable way.
We will provide all the necessary fabric, haberdashery and sewing machines (unless you would like to bring your own machine.) Expect lots of juicy discussion around the cutting table about how we can dress in a way that serves ourselves and the planet.
